Find a Training
The
Afterschool Universe team offers occasional training workshops at NASA Goddard. These workshops are free of charge and generally open to anybody.
At the end of any of these training workshops, participants are considered certified to facilitate the program for children, and will receive access to the Afterschool Universe Program Manual, as well as PowerPoint presentations to provide additional background for the program leader, downloadable files, worksheets and evaluation forms. Attendance at one of these training workshops is also the necessary first step to becoming a certified trainer yourself.
We are also in the process of certifying trainers around the country so that training workshops are more easily accessible to a variety of participants. Our network currently includes nearly 50 certified trainers, many of whom are listed below.

We will make special exceptions to the training requirement for program facilitators for those who can demonstrate a compelling reason for why our training is not necessary. If you wish to apply for a waiver from training, please complete this form. Waivers from training are not available for those who wish to become trainers for other adults.
